Chauntis Jenkins Floyd
Douglas County Board of Education District 3

Why I’m Running

I am running for the Douglas County Board of Education, District 3 seat, because I believe that strong schools are the foundation of a strong community. As a public school graduate, I have first-hand knowledge of how life-changing a strong school system can be. When our students are supported, our teachers are valued, and our families feel heard, our entire community thrives.

District 3 deserves leadership that listens carefully, asks thoughtful questions, and makes decisions based on what is best for students. Our teachers need the tools and respect to do their jobs well. Our parents deserve transparency and clear communication. Our taxpayers deserve responsible stewardship of every dollar invested in our schools.

I am ready to bring steady, strategic leadership that works collaboratively, builds trust, and focuses on long-term success for Douglas County students—today and for the future.

    Strategic Priorities for Stronger Schools

    1. Put Students First Every Decision, Every Time

A strong school system begins and ends with student success. I will advocate for high-quality resources and policies that prioritize academic achievement, equitable access to resources, and meaningful preparation for college, careers, and life.

    2. Support and Retain Excellent Educators

Teachers are the heart of our schools. Recruiting, supporting, providing a competitive salary, and retaining high-quality educators must be a priority.

    3. Ensure Safe, Stable, and Supportive Learning Environments

Students learn best when they feel safe and supported. Safety includes both physical security and emotional well-being.

    4. Practice Transparent and Responsible Fiscal Stewardship

Every dollar invested in our schools should directly support student success. As a taxpayer, I understand the concerns regarding our economy. As an experienced attorney and financial decision-maker, I will conduct careful oversight and long-term planning to ensure responsible stewardship.

    5. Build Trust Through Authentic Community Engagement

Strong schools require strong partnerships. Families, educators, business leaders, and community members all have a role to play.
