I am running for the Douglas County Board of Education, District 3 seat, because I believe that strong schools are the foundation of a strong community. As a public school graduate, I have first-hand knowledge of how life-changing a strong school system can be. When our students are supported, our teachers are valued, and our families feel heard, our entire community thrives.
District 3 deserves leadership that listens carefully, asks thoughtful questions, and makes decisions based on what is best for students. Our teachers need the tools and respect to do their jobs well. Our parents deserve transparency and clear communication. Our taxpayers deserve responsible stewardship of every dollar invested in our schools.

Raised in a family of public school educators, Chauntis has stayed active in the community through various civic organizations, such as the United Way Douglas/Paulding County Impact Board. I am a wife, proud public school graduate, an experienced attorney, and a committed member of the Douglas County community—but more importantly, I am someone who believes deeply in the power of strong schools to shape strong futures.
For more than 20 years, I have served as a trusted legal advisor and strategic leader. I currently serve as Senior Counsel for a Fortune 100 company. Previously, I managed my own law firm in Georgia and served as a law firm partner and Judge Pro Tempore in Louisiana. In each of these roles, I was entrusted with complex decisions that required sound judgment, careful oversight, and the ability to bring people together to find practical solutions.
I was raised in a family of public school educators and school system employees. From an early age, I saw the dedication educators bring to their classrooms and the impact strong leadership can have on an entire school district. Those lessons stayed with me.
Here in Douglas County, I have remained actively engaged in community service for many years with many civic organizations. I currently serve on the United Way Impact Board for Douglas and Paulding Counties, and I am a proud member of Leadership Douglas, Class of 2022. I have partnered with organizations such as CASA, always focused on strengthening families and expanding opportunity.
Colleagues and clients describe me as a thoughtful leader and a practical problem solver. I believe in asking hard questions, listening carefully, and making decisions based on facts, fairness, and what serves the greater good. I value collaboration and work to build environments where diverse perspectives are respected and aligned toward shared goals.
Most importantly, I value relationships. I am a devoted wife, godmother, stepmother, sister, aunt, and friend who understands that listening is just as important as leading.
